  Porting Vector Graphics Between Illustration Programs

There are many file formats available for porting vector graphics between Deneba Canvas™, Adobe® Illustrator®, CorelDRAW® and Macromedia® FreeHand®, but I have found that the generic EPS format is the most reliable and straightforward for this purpose. All of the illustration programs mentioned allow a direct File > Save or File > Export as an EPS file. This is a very straightforwardand simple way to do this:

postit.gif   Note: The generic EPS format is the best for porting straight line art drawings between illustration programs. Still, there are special features unique to some programs which may not port intact using generic EPS. No single format ports reliably. Sometimes it is better to use the Adobe Illustrator 7 format. You have to experiment a bit to get the best results.
