Porting
Vector Graphics Between Illustration Programs
There are many file formats available for porting vector
graphics between Deneba Canvas, Adobe®
Illustrator®, CorelDRAW®
and Macromedia® FreeHand®,
but I have found that the generic EPS format is the
most reliable and straightforward for this purpose.
All of the illustration programs mentioned allow a direct
File > Save or File > Export as
an EPS file. This is a very straightforwardand simple
way to do this:
Note:
The generic EPS format is the best for porting straight
line art drawings between illustration programs.
Still, there are special features unique to some
programs which may not port intact using generic
EPS. No single format ports reliably. Sometimes
it is better to use the Adobe Illustrator 7 format.
You have to experiment a bit to get the best results.
